A Passionate Journey in Medicine

She began her medical career here as a nursing assistant in the Intensive Care Unit at the former Indian River Medical Center in 1997, as she has always felt that medicine was more of a calling than a career. She desires professional excellence, and the privilege of serving fellow humans is her passion. After becoming an RN in 1999, during her tenure in the cardiac catheterization laboratory (aka the cath lab), she was profoundly impacted by the potency of service provided by minimally invasive means. This experience galvanized her desire to provide interventional-based therapies rather than only diagnostic therapies.

Advancing Skills and Expanding Practice

In 2009, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program. She was humbled by being chosen and elected to Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society Member and served as a proud member of that organization to this day. She returned to the emergency department with her new skills to elevate patients’ lives. The desire to optimize her skill sets led her to serve for fourteen years as an advanced practice nurse in the Emergency Department at Holmes Regional Medical Center. As an advanced practice nurse at Holmes Regional Medical Center, she expanded her practice by performing advanced procedures. She was one of the preceptors responsible for training incoming providers in the department. While she enjoyed the emergency department setting, she did not feel as fulfilled there as she did before due to her experience with catheterization.

Transformative Experience in Aesthetic Medicine

As a patient, she received an injectable-based therapy while on vacation up north with her family. Seeing what that procedure did for her self-image, confidence, and overall sense of being was nothing short of an epiphany. She wanted to elevate the experience of life, not just prolong it. She wants to use her expertise, will, and resources to elevate her patients’ life experiences. The realm of nonsurgical facial therapy and body contouring offered her an avenue to pursue her goals passionately.

As she joins the Ocean Drive team, she brings years of experience with laser resurfacing, neuromodulators such as Botox®/Xeomin®/Dysport®/Jeuveau®, dermal fillers (Juvederm®, Restylane®, Radiesse®, Renuva®), body contouring (Emsculpt®, CoolSculpting®, BodyTone®), and medical-grade skin therapy. She is thrilled to join Dr. Durkin and serve as an aesthetic nurse practitioner under his guidance. She aims to provide the highest quality outcomes in the safest possible fashion in the most comfortable and opulent environment. She hopes to meet you soon.
