Phoebe travelled to see us from Daytona Beach, Florida. After an incredibly successful career in the state school system, and after putting both of her beautiful children through high school and college, it was time for her to reinvest in herself. A fitness enthusiast, she was interested in having her face look just as good as her body. After careful analysis, it was clear to us that she needed a “Lift and Fill” approach. Her brow position was good, but she did have excess upper and lower eyelid skin. We proceeded with a limited incision facelift, bilateral upper lid blepharoplasty, bilateral lower lid blepharoplasty with lateral canthoplasty, structural fat grafting to her lower eyelids, cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. Postoperatively, we also did a series of erbium fractional laser resurfacing to her lower eyelids.
Again, our approach was to define the natural inherent strengths of her face, and the weaknesses detracting from it. We designed our intervention based upon her individual aesthetics. When you look at her preoperatively, she has absolutely striking eye features, but the corners of her eyes were starting to droop. This is why we undertook what is called a lateral canthoplasty, which is a procedure that improves canthal tilt. This subtle addition makes the outcome go from good to great. Combined, the intervention took less than three hours. Recovery was 12 days, and the results have lasted for over 10 years. Over time, we have kept up with this patient’s appearance with timely, low dose injections of Botox, Radiesse, and Juvederm.
