Restylane Lyft® is owned and distributed by Galderma Aesthetics. It was previously known as Perlane, but has undergone a recent rebranding, named as Restylane Lyft. Restylane Lyft is similar to Restylane-L, but it has a greater degree of viscosity due to increased cross-linking. This cross-linking and increased viscosity makes this filler a competitor to Radiesse Plus® and Juvederm Voluma. Restylane Lyft has a good overall g prime, and does generate tissue lift. This filler is a hyaluronic acid based filler, and as such, can be reversed with the use of Hyaluronidase.
Despite its recent rebrand, this product has been on the market for over 10 years. From a clinical outcomes perspective, Restylane Lyft is a safe and reliable product. It serves as almost a “midpoint” filler between Voluma and Radiesse Plus®. While Radiesse Plus® offers the greatest degree of tissue lift, and while Voluma has the largest degree of water absorption of the midface fillers, Restylane Lyft offers a little bit of both. This filler, after injected, provides a moderate lift with a moderate degree of water absorption. As such, it can be effectively used to both volumize and lift the midface.
Restylane Lyft® is a dosage independent filler, and it does last a minimum of 1 year.
In our practice, we use Restylane Lyft in the following situations:
We carefully avoid injecting this filler in the lower eyelid and lip areas. The viscous nature of this filler can lead to development of lumpiness in these areas. Overall, Restylane Lyft is an excellent filler product with many “boutique” uses in facial rejuvenation.
